Boohoo’s New Occasion Wear Launch

This week I was lucky enough to attend Boohoo‘s launch event in London, for their soon-to-drop new line of occasion wear – a collection comprised of stuff that’ll turn heads at your best friend’s wedding and deserves a serious shop when it hits the website this month.

If you already love Boohoo you’ll know what you’re in for: Pieces that are as playful as ever, including trendy twinsets in all the right shades, a floral print or two to flex if that’s your thing, and whatever else you’re wishing for in your wildest wardrobe dreams – from suits in pale salmon, to maxi gowns that’ll make an impact and playsuits to show right off in.

The keenest attention to detail has been paid to embellishment, structure and silhouette, with cutouts, embroidery and sheer layering looking like the garms your girl Kendall or Gigi would wear (there was a side of Balmain luxe to a few items), and everything streamlined in the leg or cinching the waist to flatter your body, whatever the type.

And, bridging that all important gap between high end and high street, as usual Boohoo has you covered with the price point – tops from the collection starting at just £4 (honest) and dresses from £15, which is super kind to your pockets (because weddings, proms, graduations and looking good on Insta is expensive) without compromising on the quality.

What would I wear from the line? Most of it – but there’s a dreamy ribbed two-piece, a baby doll dress with a feathered hem, plus a trouser suit I know I n e e d, asap.

And of the event? Well, the girls at Boohoo make a good date, treating attendees to cocktail classes (Yasss to the Gin-Margherita-Hybrid I concoctd), Nutella-smothered rainbow bagels (!), macaroons and DIY flower corsages.

There was also a pop-up braiding bar and nail salon, so babes could pass through, snack, drink, peep the collection and leave looking flyer than when they stepped in.
